A Successful Event Full of Generosity and Community Spirit
The 52nd Annual Planting the Seed Foundation Toy Drive, held at Worcester Fitness on December 12, was an overwhelming success. With generous donor support, our 2024 event ensured a better holiday season for more than 3,500 children in central Massachusetts. The foundation gathered over 10,000 presents and gift cards, demonstrating the staggering power of local generosity and caring.
Partner Organizations Make It Possible
The event was made possible through Planting the Seed Foundation’s collaboration with numerous local organizations. Our valued partners include:
- Central Mass Housing Alliance
- Worcester Housing Authority
- Autumn Woods
- Worcester Probate Court
- Net of Compassion
- St. Bernard’s Church
- South Worcester Neighborhood Association
- RFK Community Alliance
- Thrive Support & Advocacy
- Worcester Public Schools
These organizations played a critical role in coordinating the distribution of gifts and spreading holiday cheer to families in need across the region.
Continued Need for Teen Gift Cards
Despite the event’s success, we continue to see a spike in demand for teens’ gift cards, which are overlooked when gift drives are held at Christmas. Donations continue to be accepted to satisfy this need. Contributions can be made through Venmo (@Plantingtheseed) or by emailing the foundation directly at info@plantingtheseed.org.
A Grateful Community
“We are deeply grateful for the incredible generosity of our community,” said Molly O. McCullough, Chair of Planting the Seed. “Thanks to everyone who participated, thousands of children will experience the joy of the holiday season. However, the need remains great, and we encourage those who can to continue supporting this effort.”
Special Thanks
Planting the Seed Foundation extends special thanks to:
- Worcester Fitness for hosting this year’s event
- Creedon and Co. for providing food for the party
- Worcester Police Department and Worcester County House of Corrections for their support
- All drop-off locations
- Volunteers, sponsors, and donors who contributed to the success of the drive
Together, these efforts have helped build stronger communities and made a meaningful difference for families in central Massachusetts.
Thank you for your friendship and generosity!
Each year, we can help more children and families than in years past, and it is because of your support.
